В городе Лермонтов, как и в других городах Ставропольского края идет процесс ликвидации местного самоуправления и замены его на самостийное городское правление, являющееся вертикалью власти чиновников при губернаторе. Так в бюджете города Ставрополя прямая статья "Содержание высшего должностного лица края - губернатора) и 50 процентов других тайных статей. В Ставрополе давно уже нет местного самоуправления, там Конституционный строй сменили без шума. А маленький городок - сопротивляется, недолго.
